# SMTP Pool

> How SendyKit managed SMTP overflow works for self-hosted operators

## Overview

Managed SMTP Pool is the overflow path for operators who want help when their own sending capacity runs short.

Typical use case:

* you normally send through SES or your own SMTP
* quota or deliverability pressure spikes
* SendyKit can route overflow through managed providers

## Why it exists

It gives self-hosted operators:

* a safety valve during spikes
* a way to keep sends moving
* less panic when provider limits hit at the wrong time

## Pricing shape

Product docs currently frame SMTP Pool as a metered add-on.

Examples already used in product/store work:

* 10K emails
* 50K emails

## Important boundary

This is an add-on service.
It does not change the fact that self-hosted SendyKit is still your install, your server, your operating model.
